Each month Pawsitive Alliance features one of our local Shelter's residing dog or cat who seems to be over looked. This month's feature pet is Paka, he is being cared for by the wonderful people at Pasado's Safe Haven.
Meet Paka!
Paka is shy, but his curiosity (and love for treats) gets him every time! He is a tall, handsome boy with a handsome face to match. Paka is only four-years-old, but he has a wise, calm soul. He likes other dogs and would do well in just about any home that can provide him the love and attention he needs. Paka was rescued from a hoarding case, where 71 other foxhounds were locked-up together in a barn the size of a one-car garage. He is very shy around humans, but he warms up to people that spend time with him and care for him. Paka loves treats and toys and likes to jump up on his bench and play “king of the mountain."We know how special it is to care for a timid dog like Paka and we want to make it as easy for you as possible. We are your partner! The parents of the foxhounds who have already moved on to their permanent homes have a well-established and incredibly effective online support system in place where ideas are shared, successes are celebrated, and “foxy reunions” happen regularly. As Paka’s new guardian you will be part of this amazing “foxhound family” with as much or as little access to the group as you need. Because of the unique history of these dogs we also support each adopter/foster parent with personalized training from our own staff dog trainer. Did we mention that one of the foxy mom’s in the support group is also a certified dog trainer? We guarantee that bringing one of these foxhounds into your home will change your life. Seemingly small things like having him lay his head in your lap for the first time, taking a treat from your hand, or wagging his tail when you walk into a room will bring a tear to your eye. _Please contact Pasado's Safe Haven today if you think you can open your heart and home to Paka.
