Cream, 2 yrs., Female
Adopt me at Whitman Pets Cream, a pit bull terrier mix, is a Southern girl who was brought from Texas to Washington, to find her forever home. She has spent almost her entire life in a shelter setting and would love to be able to live in a place where she can sit on a couch and call it home. She’s funny as she loves to “grumble” as she shakes around her toys. A high energy dog, she would do well with someone who’s savvy with dog training - all she needs is exercise to burn off the excess energy. A home with fenced yard where she can run around would be ideal. Cream needs to learn her place in her new household and shows frustrations towards young children and other animals. She will do best learning her place in a home environment before having to compete with other creatures in the home. |
Harriet, 10 yrs., Female
Adopt me at Wags to Riches Animal Rescue & Sanctuary
Harriet, a 10-year-old poodle mix is the 500th homeless pet in the #WhyNotMePets campaign. Harriet’s a sweet 10-year-old Miniature Poodle mix whose eyesight has faded but her zest for life hasn’t. She was found wandering at a parking lot before being rescued by Yakima Humane Society, and then later transferred to Wags to Riches Animal Rescue & Sanctuary.
Since being rescued, she’s in the loving care of a foster, and despite being blind, Harriet can navigate new environments quickly. She is a calm and loving dog who gets along with cats, dogs and loves children!
She would make a wonderful companion for many people, but she is taking a bit longer to be adopted than she would if she were a young pup, as older pets are often passed over for younger dogs, which Harriet knows all too well.
Added to her age, Harriet has a heart murmur, which she takes medications for, and she needs soft food as she had many teeth pulled. These are manageable needs and the right person for Harriet will work with her adoption agency to help her find that perfect home.
Whoever is the lucky person to adopt Harriet will receive a gift basket and a gift certificate from The Seattle Barkery, and a gift certificate from "Pet Central Kent!"

Whispurr, 11 yrs., Female
Adopt me at Pasado's Safe Haven Whispurr was rescued from a severe hoarding case, but has made tremendous progress in her socialization and confidence. She’s very close to becoming a social kitty, and just needs that one person, who can take a chance on her, and give her a loving home. This sweet kitty will need to be adopted with a rescue mate, as they’ve bonded. She loves treats, but is particular from whom she takes it from. Once you’ve earned her trust to be in her circle, she will welcome you with lots of love. She’s fine with dogs, other cats and children. |
Carole Bradshaw, 2 yrs., Female
Adopt me at Motley Zoo Animal Rescue The first thing you’ll notice is that Carole looks like a small poodle mix, but she’s really a standard sized husky/Collie mix with an atypical husky coat. She loves to play with other dogs, long walks and not so rigorous hikes. She loves car rides and wants to be involved in what you’re doing. When the sun rises, she will let you know like a rooster. She likes to chase cats and small dogs but she does aim to please and takes to training easily. Beware that she also loves nothing more than to dig in the mud. She has a valgus deformity on her front right leg, which makes it splay to the side. Surgery isn’t an option right now as it may do more harm than good, as she would need a section of bone from her leg cut and melded back together to shorten that front leg. She’s active and doesn’t let that slow her down. She’s on supplements and a joint diet. She will get arthritis in that joint when she's older, so making sure she maintains a high-quality diet with appropriate supplements is the key. |
Mammoth, 3 yrs., Male
Adopt me at Regional Animal Services at King County Mammoth was brought into the shelter by a Samaritan in March 2022. He has lived most of his life outside, but he’s ready to retire that lifestyle and find a warm home to cozy up into for the rest of his life. He loves to eat, but more than that, he loves to chow down, though he can become overstimulated. So please look out for signs of that. He’s a spirited, fun-loving cat, but may be sensitive to handling so his ideal home would be with a cat-savvy person. He's FIV, so will need to be housed with other FIV+ cats or in places where risk of transmission is unlikely. |
Rose, 1.5 yrs., Female
Adopt me at Dog Gone Seattle Rose, a Shepherd/Labrador retriever mix, was repeatedly found running loose in her neighborhood by neighbors who tried to return her to the owner. The last time they found her, the owner never came to claim her. She loves to play with toys, getting belly rubs, and taking advantage of her couch privileges! She's obsessed with the word "food" and will dance in anticipation of it. She has lived with dogs and does well after a slow introduction (over a couple of days) but once acclimated, happily shares the bed, play tug or any other fun games. She also likes to nap a lot. She’s leash reactive and will need training for that. She likes kids, though being a big dog, young kids may not be the ideal situation. We hope she finds someone who won't let her run around the neighborhood, and will love and keep her. She deserves that. |
Trey, 6 yrs., Male
Adopt me at Greyhound Pets, Inc. Trey is a love. He is affectionate, happy, mature, and likes nothing more than to lean in. He is a big, strong boy and likes a run around, but he also likes to lean in for some loving. He is easy going and loves to be brushed He will need a home without cats and is not suitable for an apartment/condo/townhome. |
Curious & Sassy, Adult, Females
Adopt me at Regional Animal Services of King County Curious and Sassy are bonded sisters who were brought in by their former family because they were moving. They’re shy initially but become loving once they’re familiar with you. They do well with other cats, and are gentle, loving cats who will cuddle up to you. They like to take things slow as they can get a bit nervous in new situations. They’re litterboxes trained and would do well with a family who understands that they need some time to warm up. Once they get to you know you, they are very devoted feline friends! Top left: Curious Bottom left: Sassy |
Bruno, 2 yrs., Male
Adopt me at Pasado's Safe Haven Bruno was rescued from a cruelty situation, and despite this, he’s been nothing but a love bug. He readily accepts all the pets you can give him and has an adorable habit of settling himself down to sit right on your feet while you pet him. Bruno does very well around kids no younger than 5 years old with a family who's experienced with dogs. He will not be able to be introduced or interact with other passing dogs on walks. However, he’s exceptional with his leash manners even when passing barking dogs! Please note that for Bruno’s protection, we’re unable to show photos of him. So, we have provided a stock photo that would give you a close idea of his appearance. |
Maddie, 11 yrs., Female
Adopt me at Regional Animal Services at King County Maddie, a domestic short-hair cat, came to the shelter in January 2022 after her owner passed away. Her previous family described her as shy and skittish, but she does come out of her shell once she gets to know you. She loves attention, but on her own terms as she can get overwhelmed with petting. So please go slow and look for signs she might need a break. Spirited and fun-loving by nature, she loves to play with other cats and have been around children of all ages. She would benefit from a slow introduction nevertheless, with other cats in a new home, but she should be able to settle down well after that. Would do best with a cat-savvy family who knows how to handle cats and give her some space. She does have some dental disease, which is common for a cat her age. She’s also hyperthyroid which is being managed with daily medication. My adoption also comes with a free visit to the veterinarian of your choice, and 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. |
Atheena, 5 yrs 7 mths., Female
Adopt me at Regional Animal Services of King County Atheena, an Australian cattle mix is a sweet but shy girl and in the beginning she may be unsure of new people. However, once she gets to know you, she blossoms into her true self. She becomes very friendly and warm towards you. She’s active and loves to play, but also knows how to remain calm when the people around her stays calm. She loves lots of exercise, and in the early days would do best if someone was available to be with her at home. She will need consistency and some socialization to teach her new things and manners. She is deeply loyal and makes for a wonderful companion. Her caregivers have observed that she might not get along with other dogs or young kids, so being the only pet without kids at home would be the most ideal for her. My adoption comes with a free visit to the veterinarian of your choice, and 30 days of opt-in pet insurance through Trupanion. |
Clayton, 8 yrs, 5 mths., Male
Adopt me at Seattle Humane Society Clayton, a Pointer mix, came from the Kauai Humane Society and was transferred to the Seattle Humane in late 2021. They found out that he loves nature walks, and once he feels safe with the environment and people, he drops his guard and becomes most lovable. He had a rough start in life, which may have caused some of his reactivity and fear in new situations. Dense places like apartments may not be the best fit for him, and he would likely do much better in houses with a yard. He has some skin allergy and dental conditions, but they can be managed. Clayton is a real love bug once you get to know him, and a home where he’s the only pet in the house would be ideal. |
Ladybug, 9 yrs., Female
Adopt me at Pasado's Safe Haven Ladybug was rescued from a terrible hoarding situation with many other cats, who are still at Pasado’s Safe Haven sanctuary. She's a bit fear reactive due to her past, so she would do well with a family who would understand she will need her space and time work through her shyness. She has bonded with another rescued cat from the same hoarding situation, and that is Moxie, who's also featured in our #WhyNotMePets campaign. It would be wonderful if she and Moxie can be adopted together as they spend a lot of time together. Ladybug is one of shiest of the shy kitties. She is much more of a follower and finds comfort in her other kitty friends. She would much prefer you set the treat in front of her and leave than she would to eat it out of your hand. But she loves in her own way and will make the right person very happy. |
Kayah, Adult, Female
Adopt me at SCRAPS Kayah was abandoned and brought to the shelter in 2020, where she’s stayed ever since. We hope we can find her a home as she just radiates love and happiness and is always up for anything. She loves playing with her toys and can have fun with them for hours! Her kisses are the best and just watch her butt wiggle! Kayah has a prey drive that makes her alert to cats and squirrels in her neighborhood. She’s so smart though, we know she’ll be eager to train with her new family on how NOT to go after her “prey.” In the shelter, staff has observed that Kayah can be reactive towards other dogs, so a home without other dogs would be ideal. She will also do best in a home with children above 12 years old, as she’s quite active. Kayah has had a few bumps in the road, and she is on a prescription urinary diet, but with that diet she should do just fine. She is also doing well on a prescription urinary diet, so with proper care management on that, she should do just fine. Such a cutie by nature, just look at her carry her toy to you. |
Ariya, 8.5 yrs., Female
Adopt me at Regional Animal Services King County Ariya was brought into the shelter by her previous owner in 2021 because they could no longer care for her. She lived in a home with another cat, but they didn’t get along. Described as affectionate with people, she got along well with her other small dogs, but not other cats. She’s a loving kitty who loves to purr and cuddle on your lap; eats every 6-8 hours and will purr to let you know it’s ‘din-din’ time. She will sometimes hide under furniture to carve out some alone time, but she will come to you when called. With piercing green eyes, and her tail hanging over her back, she definitely catches the attention of passersby. She can give you a bit of love nip, but it’s never too hard. She’s not trying to be mean, it’s just her weird way of showing you affection. With a spirited and fun personality she will do best with cat savvy individuals as she can be sensitive to handling. Diagnosed with Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV), Ariya would do best being the only cat as the virus can be transmitted to other cats through saliva or sharing water bowls, communal grooming and social contact. Cats with this virus typically live shorter lifespans, but with proper care and management, she could live much longer. |
Nezzy, 2 yrs., Male
Adopt me at SCRAPS Nezzy was surrendered to the SCRAPS on January 1st 2021. He’s been homeless for more than a year, and he’s so ready to find his forever home. He really is a lovebug, and though shy in the beginning with people due to his trauma, he warms up easily. Today, he’s just a happy, loving, ready-to-roll kinda’ guy, who makes a great sidekick for any of his friends. He was even awarded “Best Smile” and “Best Frog Legs” many times! Nezzy plays with several of his other doggie friends at the shelter, but he can become over-aroused easily. Overall, he's a good dog and deserves a chance. For further information, you can contact the shelter. |
Cane, 3 yrs., Male
Adopt me at SCRAPS Cane came to the shelter in April 2021 and was found running around and barking at people. He has a ton of energy and burns that off by playing with other dogs and running around. For this reason, we recommend a yard for him as he can then easily burn off that energy by running and playing fetch! He’s not all energy though, as he knows how to relax and lounge around as well. Other times, he will play with his toys and can entertain himself. He doesn’t do well with kids, but he’s awesome with other dogs! He will need some training on leash as he pulls, but he’s smart and will learn fast. All he needs is a chance. |
Elliot, 7 yrs 6 mths., Male
Adopt me at Seattle Humane Society I’m Elliot and the first thing you’ll notice about me is that I’m all white. I blend well with the snow, and feel right at home in the cold, snowy Winter months. I love squeaky toys and treats and can’t get enough of them. I’m in good health, love walks and hikes. I still have a lot of stamina and can be your hiking companion. I do best in a home where I am the only pet as big dogs scare me. I’m not sure how I am with cats, but I do better too in a home without children. I'd prefer a house with a yard as big apartment buildings are not the best matches for me. |
Wyatt, 2 yrs., Male
Adopt me at Wenatchee Humane Society I may be young, but I’m very mature for my age as I tackle puzzles and mind games. In fact, I will make sure to rest my paw on your arm to gain your attention as I wait my turn. I tend to go with the flow in my very gentle manner but can also be very spontaneous. I was enrolled in a behavior program where I learned for 10 months to socialize properly and now I can say with great confidence that I love meeting new people. I really enjoy just laying out in the sun, enjoying the warmth and breeze, having snacks and getting my daily walks. People say I’m smart, but I’m most proud that I’m also very loyal. I would be fine with children over 15+, just not young ones. I don’t do well living with other dogs or cats as well. I’m healthy with no medical issues and would love to be in a home with people who are patient, understanding and have time to work with me. |
Piper, 2.5 yrs., Female
Adopt me at Pasado's Safe Haven Piper is an energetic girl who LOVES her people! Even though she’s blind, she’s very responsive to her caregivers and is excellent in her clicker training. She was rescued from a high-volume shelter in Texas where she was at risk of euthanasia. Right off the transport vehicle, she was ready to give everyone kisses and this hasn't stopped! Piper doesn't always know her size, so she can be a little excited when showing her love. She’s working on muzzle training for situations where she may get mouthy. This girl is a great example of the beauty a blind dog can see in the world. Piper is always happy, and her body is always wiggling with joy! Piper requires a 13+ household and one without small animals. She enjoys other dogs and will require quite a bit of your time in her training. |
Bella, 2 yrs 7 mths., Female
Adopt me at Wenatchee Humane Society Hi! I’m Bella, a Terrier & American Pit Bull mix. I’m a pretty active dog who loves to fetch and hike. But I also like to just lay on the couch and receive cuddles. I’m smart, goofy and always wanting to please. If you’re looking for an adventure, I’m all yours! I did get lots of help from my shelter as they enrolled me in a behavior program, where I worked my cute little butt-off on meeting new people and adapting to new surroundings. I’ve now blossomed into a wonderful dog that has been patiently waiting for the perfect home, and an adventure buddy. I’m healthy with no medical issues. I just need someone to continue working with me, so that I wouldn’t be put into crowded situations. While playing in the yard, I would also benefit from a tall-fence. I do best as the only pet with no young children, no cats or other dogs. However, I can live with children over 15 years old as I'm really good with them. |
Juni, 2 yrs, Male
Adopt me at Humane Society Tacoma & Pierce County Originally from New Orleans, Juni came to Seattle in search of a family. He was adopted twice but returned. Perhaps the third time is the charm? He's curious, energetic and loves to be around people. He would do well in a cat-savvy household, who have routines and time to play enrichment games with him. He knows how to use his litterbox and is an expert at swatting a wand; that just drives him wild! If you ever wonder where he is, he's likely to be sitting high up in his cat tree, purring like a Mercedes. Juni's wonderful with other cats and dogs; just doesn't do as well with children. He's been working with a behaviorist, who has offered a complimentary session to his adopter. An adoption counselor will also be happy to provide more information about him. |
Juniper, 1.5 yrs, Female
Adopt me at Greyhound Pets, Inc Juniper is a happy, friendly, adorable girl, who loves to play ball. She also loves to hang out with people or play in a fenced yard. And it has to be fenced. She's eager to please and easy to train. She was a puppy when she was adopted in California. But when she was hit by a car, she was returned to the shelter. Then she made her way to Greyhound Pets, Inc, and she's now hoping to find her forever home. Her "greyhound" roots may be a bit questionable, but make no mistake, she's so adorable when she slightly tilts her head. She has some hip dysplasia which may need surgery as she ages, but right now she can move very well. She would do well with no cats and no kids in the house. It's still a bit unknown how she would do with other dogs. |
Charleston, 2 yrs 8 months., Male
Adopt me at Greyhound Pets, Inc Charleston is a greyhound mix and am sweet as they come. He loves to play with other dogs, and they just have a ball of fun! And don't him started on the beach! It's his favorite place to be, splashing in the water. He's afraid of kids, and not so great with cats, so a home with just you would be ideal. He broke his leg as a young pup and it didn't heal so well, but rest assured, it doesn't slow him down. On top of that, he was Greyhound Pets August Dog of the Month! You can see why. |
|
Goo, 7 yrs 8 mths., Male
Adopt me at Forgotten Dogs Rescue Goo is one super smart lab/pit bull mix! He knows many commands and is crate trained, and with being so smart, he needs good mental stimulation such as puzzles and tricks. He behaves well in public, and looks to his person as to how to behave, but sometimes he can get in-to protective mode, so his new person needs to help him understand when he doesn't have to protect quite so much. He might overdo it with food, bowls, toys, etc, so he would do best in a home without children, cats, or other rowdy dogs. Really, he thrives in a calm home. He admits he can be a little physical and mouthy, but this is typical of a lot of pitties, and he is no different! He's hoping his new person will be someone who's confident and will know how to handle doggies like him! |
Asha, 5 yrs., Female
Adopt me at Forgotten Dogs Rescue Asha is a calm and sweet girl. When she was younger she had two torn ACLs, but they are now fixed, and she's as good as new! She can run and play like the best of them. They don't call her the "Queen of Snuggles" for nothing! Her favorite thing to do is to cuddle and watch movies, but if she must go outside, she's more likely to supervise you in your yard work. She's also house and crate trained, and knows commands such as sit and down. But she's also a goofball. Let her show you how she sits and also how big of a sweeties she is, who enjoys attention and spreading the love! She would do best in a quiet home and with younger kids, but she doesn't fancy teenagers, cats, or other dogs. Basically, this queen just wants to be your one and only! Gosh, that would be great! |
Draco, 4 yrs., Male
Adopt me at Kitsap Animal Rescue & Education Draco wasn't getting along with the other dog in his previous home, so he's looking for a new family who will let him be the king of the castle! He really doesn't want to share with any other pets. He loves his people & he's never met a human he didn't want to hug and play fetch with! He likes to zoom around for a half hour, and then it's nap and cuddle time. He would like a house with a yard because he doesn't like seeing other dogs. He is a little big and goofy so no young kids that he could knock over would be best. |
|
Bo, 5 yrs 8 months., Male
Adopt me at Forgotten Dogs Rescue Bo is a very good boy and he's always trying to be super sweet. Sometimes on walks he gets scared of things with wheels and other dogs, but he's making great progress with his training. He loves playing tug and fetch so a yard is a must for him. He would also do best as the only dog. He lives with a young kiddo right now, and they get along swimmingly! He can't wait to find a family where he can fit in just right, somewhere where he can get a lot of attention and keep learning how to stay calm around new people and other dogs would be perfect! |
Rocket, 6 yrs., Male
Adopt me at SCRAPS Rocket is an intelligent adventure pup looking for the perfect person to be a sidekick for. He loves hiking, jogging and a good structured routine. He can be a bit cat-like and aloof at first, but once you give me space to relax, I will follow you around like an adorable bunny-eared shadow! He hurt his neck a while back, so he doesn't like quick movements towards that area. Because of this, he would be happiest in a home with no kids or other dogs, but he hasn't been reactive towards dogs. He did six weeks of training in prep for his new home, so don't wait... inquire about adopting him today! |
|
BuBu, 9 yrs., Male
Adopt me at Greyhound Pets, Inc BuBu is a handsome boy, who loves his people! He likes to play and go for walks to show his excellent leash manners. He would love to be your only pet so that he can be the center of attention! BuBu does very well in car rides, so please take him along! He would need a fenced yard and no cats, but he does very do as your constant companion. At home, he's very chill, and he simply can't wait to go home and cuddle his new family! |
