Salmon Days 2022
|
The Salmon Days Festival on October 1-2, 2022 was awesome! With the warm, sunny weather that we were blessed with during those two days, the crowd was incredible! Lots of people, folks with their dogs, lots of different types of food, arts & crafts, and our partners, Paws With Cause and Community Cat Coalition were there as well!
People were 'hugging' the kitty corner of the Community Cat Coalition booth, where the cute kitties were lapping up the attention. We were kept hopping promoting our mission of helping homeless dogs and cats find homes, and programs that prevent cats and dogs from becoming homeless, including highlighting the adoptable #WhyNotMePets. Plus, we were kept on our feet having fun games for attendees to pawrticipate in! We had raffle drawings and "Spin-the-Wheel," where folks stepped right up, forming long queues! Our partner, Forgotten Dogs Rescue, brought Cali, a 5 year-old adoptable dog, a gem who loved all the attention. Children came right up, and Cali was rolling on her belly. Everyone had a lot of fun, and we couldn't have asked for a better weekend! Top video: Paws with Cause and Community Cat Coalition booths. Bark at the Park - September 28, 2022
|
The final Bark at the Park game was such a blast!
Too bad it was the last one for us this year. We had adoptable dogs from our partner adoption agencies: Wenatchee Valley Humane Society (WHS), and Animal Rescue Friends Society of Grant County (ARFSGC). Five adoptable dogs were adopted! Check out the cute, adoptable pooches on the left and bottom from these adoption agencies. The videos show a reporter from the Mariners who interviewed the two adoption agencies, and their videos appeared on the Mariners' Jumbotron for all the fans to see! Bailing Out Benji, a non-profit organization that's dedicated to ending puppy mills was also present to educate and inform the public about puppy mills. We were there making FREE custom pet ID tags for attendees' pets (pet do not need to be present), helping to re-unite caretakers with their pets if they were ever to get lost. Game was held at T-Mobile stadium, 1250 1st Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134, and it started at 6:40 pm. Videos top two: reporter interviewing the two adoption agencies. Left, third down: Bolt from Wenatchee Valley Humane Society with a fan. Left, fourth down: Luna from Animal Rescue Friends Society of Grant County. Bottom L-R: Franny, Jefferson, Turner from Wenatchee Valley Humane Society. |
"Git A Home Little Doggy" Adoption & ID Event
On September 25, 2002 we were at the "Git A Home Little Doggy" event organized by Bailing Out Benji providing free custom pet ID tags to keep pets safe and sound.
Adoption agencies included Forgotten Dogs Rescue, MustluvBoxers Rescue and Charlie's Foundation, who brought their adoptable dogs, Moose, Missy, Harvey, Tyson and Geralt to meet folks and hopefully find a forever home! We provided free custom pet ID tags, for anyone who wanted to protect and keep their pets safe. |
Dogtoberfest - 2022
Dogtoberfest, held in the Fremont neighborhood of Seattle, on Sunday, September 18, 2022 was a resounding success as we engraved and gave away 35 free pet ID tags!
This super-dog-friendly event attracted dog lovers from all over, and many came with their cute pooches in costumes, and walked away happy with a pet ID. Others dropped by our booth attracted by our pictures of our #WhyNotMePets and were curious to learn about our mission and programs. Many donated to our causes and also played our Raffles, where winners received either a basket full of dog goodies or the grand prize of a beautifully handmade blanket. |
Bark at the Park - August 23, 2022
|
We had some un-furrgettable adoptable dogs at our August 23, Bark at the Park for the 2022 Major League Baseball season!
About 1,000 Mariner fans with their beloved pooches streamed into T-Mobile stadium, keeping all of us happy and busy! We made FREE custom pet ID tags for attendees' pets (pet did not need to be present), and handed out our #WhyNotMePets baseball cards with Rocket and Juni, two #WhyNotMePets! We also had Spin the Wheel, which was super fun for everyone, as prizes were handed out. The next Bark at the Park event is Wednesday, September 28. We will be there making FREE custom pet ID tags for attendees' cats and dogs (pet does not need to be present). Our Washington adoption agencies Dog Gone Seattle, and Washington Alaskan Malamute Adoption League (WAMAL), attended the event. These organizations brought their adorable and adoptable dogs to meet the public and hopefully will find their forever homes. The Mariners interviewed Dog Gone Seattle and WAMAL to be featured on their Jumbotron! How AWESOME was that? Check out the videos on the left to see the interview. This brought a TON more doggie fans to their adoption table, hopefully, leading to some adoptions. Not only that, the adoptable pooches were also given some air time with 98.9 The Bull! Thank you for doing that! (Please see below the adorable photos of the puppies and dogs hamming it up in front of 98.9 The Bull's banner.) Where: T-Mobile stadium, 1250 1st Ave S, Seattle, WA 98134 Game started at 6:40 pm |
Greyt Walkathon - 2022
|
On Saturday, August 20, 2022 Pawsitive Alliance walked with with the hounds at Greyhound Pets, Inc’s (GPI) 12th Annual Greyt Walkathon at Lynndale park in Lynwood!
Sweet Sissy, our #WhyNotMePets greyhound was present, walking with our partner, Martha Faulkner. Sissy was the sweetest ever, very calm among a sea of greyhounds. She did well in the heat and busyness of people and other hounds. What more could you ask for? Yes, a home! She's been homeless for a few months now, and we can't understand why. Look at her enjoying her puppucino in the first video! In the second video, you can see how good she is leash-walking with volunteer Martha Faulkner. And in the third video, everyone is doing what they call "Rowling," where humans howl, prompting the dogs to howl along! That was amazing to watch, or rather hear! Two other long-term homeless hounds being cared by Greyhound Pets, Inc. are also in our #WhyNotMePets campaign, BuBu and Juniper. They're also looking for their furever homes. The walkathon helped raise funds for them and the other greyt hounds in GPI's care. Visit Greyt Walkathon’s website to learn more details on how to pawrticipate. |
Old Dog Haven Festival - 2022
|
On Saturday, July 16, 2022, at Cromwell Park in Shoreline, we were at the Old Dog Haven Festival and got our fill of senior dogs with their white hair and warm eyes, whom we love and admire so much.
A crowd of up to 500 attended, and we were there to mail folks 22 FREE pet identification tags. Many people queued up to play Spin-the-Wheel and generously bought raffle tickets to win a homemade blanket! To benefit them, hundreds of fans dropped by for some fun games, food and drinks and auctions! They were dogs dressed in costumes playing games with their person, free cotton candy and pop corn, over 40 vendor booths and food trucks for the hungry. There was pawlm reading for the dogs, nail trims for the pooches and face painting for the kids. If you missed the 2022 event, fear not, as Old Dog Haven has them annually. |
Bark at the Park - June 27, 2022
On a hot Monday evening, June 27, 2022, we had our Bark at the Park event, which had our partner animal rescue groups participate. Forgotten Dogs Rescue, OkanDogs Animal Rescue, Sunny Sky's Animal Rescue were on hand with their adorable dogs and puppies, meeting the Mariners' fans!
Our volunteers worked hard getting the Seattle Mariners’ fans and their cute pooches to play our Spin-the-Wheel and get pet ID tags for their beloved dogs and cats. Not that there was a lot of persuading needed to be done, as both the pet ID tags and Spin-the-Wheel were a popular hit! The queues were long and never ending. |

Petpalooza - 2022
|
This year's Auburn’s Petpalooza on May 21, 2022 at Game Farm Park was so much FUN!!! There was a TON of fun activities for pet lovers and their special four-legged friends everywhere!
We were at our booth and handed out 63 custom pet ID tags! There was a long queue for this, and lots of people wanted one for their pets. Many went home happy with their pet ID tags for their kitties and pooches. We also had a raffle in which winners won 10 gift bags of a paint-kit, kindly donated by PawsWithCause, including a bag of dog treats. The big raffle prize was a handmade blanket that an attendee named Kelda won! She was amazed at how beautiful it was and thrilled to have won it! It was an event for everyone, and Petpalooza made sure to include activities such as the 3k/5k Dog Trot Run, flying ball dog activities, inflatable rides, live entertainment, children’s activities like face painting, a variety of vendors, a food court and beer garden! |
Bailing Out Benji - 2022
Bailing Out Benji at Two Beers Brewing Co.
Whew.. what an event! There were so many adorable dogs and pups up for adoption, and seriously, it wasn't easy to choose for so many people looking to adopt. There was Kimia who held a puppy for the first time in her life, and fell in love! (See photo on the left). Then there was the couple who said they weren't quite ready yet, but kept going back to cuddle with some of Casa Dog's puppies. |
The adoption event was by Bailing Out Benji and was held at Two Beers Brewing Co. Animal rescue groups from Forgotten Dogs Rescue, Motley Zoo Animal Rescue, Saving Great Animals and Pasado's Safe Haven had their dogs and pups mingle with guests and potential adopters, who couldn't get enough of them.
Just check out all the cute, adorable dogs such as Mona, Lizzie, Rick, Mocha, Edel, Sadie, and many more! You simply won't be able to get enough. |
We handed out pet I.D. tags as part of our pet retention program in order to keep all pets safe and sound.

#WhyNotMePet paint contest winners of 2022!
Congratulations Tammy, Zoey, Michiko and Violet!!!
They are the winners of our February 5th paint event that was held jointly with Paws With Cause in Everett on February 21! Our winners, along with other participants, young and old, painted one of four #WhyNotMePets including Mr. Big, Bubba, Kenny and Moxie, to help them and other homeless pets find a loving home. Paws With Cause volunteers were on hand to guide and provide tips to everyone in order to bring our each and everyone's inner Van Gogh! Everyone had A LOT of fun, and even Pasado's Safe Haven's #WhyNotMePets, Akira was present. He definitely garnered a lot of attention, pets and cuddles! The winning painters garnered the most votes in our online contest, and have won the honor of having their paintings made into greeting cards. We credited them, plus gifted them a set of their very own #WhyNotMe pets' greeting cards! Congratulations again to the winners and everyone else for participating! |
Happy Valentine's! Woof! Meow!
Valentine's e-card
February 14 2022 It was that special time of the year to show our loved ones some extra love. People donated just $10 and we sent them a sweet Valentine e-card to share with their family, friends or special someone. And with a donation of $50, they also received a free photo package from Rachelle Erickson Design & Photography! The cards had photos of our #WhyNotMePets and was a big hit with everyone!
