Affordable spay and neuter surgeries are currently available for dogs of Grant County residents.
Pawsitive Alliance, with assistance from a grant from the Washington Federation of Animal Care and Control Agencies, will offer several low-cost, one-day spay/neuter clinics for dogs in Grant County in 2020 and 2021. The goal of the grant is to complete more than 160 spay/neuter surgeries for the dogs of lower income residents of Grant County (due to grant stipulations, caretakers must reside in Moses Lake, Soap Lake and Ephrata).
Reservations are required, applications are available through Grant County Animal Outreach, 6725 Randolph Rd NE, Moses Lake.
Requirements: Cash co-pays of $55 for neuters and $95 for spays must be submitted with the application. Puppies must be at least two months old and weigh at least two pounds; due to additional surgery risks, no dogs over the age of seven, please. Proof of rabies vaccination is required at the time the application is submitted, this may include a health certificate, vaccination certificate or invoice with the pet ID and date of vaccination from the veterinarian. Note, if there is no verification, the rabies vaccination is mandatory and will be administered for all animals. Due to grant stipulations, caretakers must reside in Moses Lake, Soap Lake and Ephrata.
On clinic days, animals will be dropped off at the Grant County Animal Outreach’s facility and transported to Yakima Humane Society's spay and neuter clinic to have their surgeries performed.
For more information, contact GCAO at 509.762.9616 or Pawsitive Alliance at 206.486.4PET.

Watch our video from our 2019 Gala for a Pawsitive Future to learn more about our spay/neuter clinics in Central Washington! |
Over 3,000 pets have been spayed and neutered through SNIP SNIP, our Spay/Neuter Increase Program, since 2009! Of those, 1,113 surgeries were facilitated from 2017-2019!
With SNIP SNIP, we increase the number of high quality and low cost dog and cat spay and neuter surgeries being performed. We know that we can't solve the pet overpopulation problem through adoptions alone, we must prevent unwanted and accidental pregnancies.
Pawsitive Alliance's role: We raise funds and give administrative support to facilitate clinics, create new opportunities for services, and expand current spay/neuter programs throughout Washington State.
Why Spay/Neuter is necessary: Dogs can have up to two litters per year while cats can have as many as five. By fixing your one pet you can help save hundreds, if not thousands, of lives. Sadly, there are thousands of dogs and cats in our state who are already homeless and waiting for their chance at a forever home; more unwanted puppies and kittens born fill already crowded shelters. Visit our Spay/Neuter Myths and Spay/Neuter Benefits pages for further information.
Our partners: We target geographic areas and animal types with historically high overpopulation rates. We partner with nonprofit and for profit, high quality clinics, who also care about ending pet overpopulation and homelessness.
