Pawsitive Alliance works to help the already homeless animals find loving homes through our Adoption Program; and, we work to prevent pets from becoming homeless through our Spay/Neuter Program and Pet Retention Program.
With our Adoption Program, we focus on helping animal adoption agencies in Washington find homes for the homeless dogs and cats in their care by increasing adoption opportunities through events and our #WhyNotMePets campaign, which focuses on increasing the attention to long-term and harder to adopt cats and dogs who need an extra paw up to find their forever home.

Our Spay/Neuter Program increases the number of high quality, low-cost cat and dog spay and neuter surgeries being performed in Washington State. We know that we can't solve the pet overpopulation problem through adoptions alone, we must prevent unwanted and accidental pregnancies. To accomplish this, we target areas of need (usually a region with high rates of cat and dog overpopulation which has few affordable surgery options), we identify partners that can provide the high quality and low-cost surgeries and then we raise funds and give administrative support to facilitate the surgeries; we both create new and expand current spay/neuter programs throughout the state.

Through our Pet Retention Program, we focus on keeping pets with their caretaker and prevent one of the most common reasons pets end up in a shelter: they become separated from their caretaker, are brought into an adoption agency as "lost" or "stray", and don't have a pet I.D. tag or microchip. To help lost pets get returned to their home as quickly and safely as possible, we are focused on providing free or low-cost pet I.D. tags in communities throughout Washington State.
Additionally, we honor that income should not be a barrier to keeping a pet. Thus, we help those most vulnerable in our community, the homeless and low-income, care for their pets. Pawsitive Alliance is working with our partners to provide medical care, pet I.D., and supplies for the pets of these community members to keep them safe and cared for. These are beloved pets whose caretakers want the best for them.
