To help cats and dogs thrive, Pawsitive Alliance provides essential supplies for the pets of people experiencing housing or financial instability through monthly events as well as human and animal welfare agencies across Washington. Additionally, we distribute free pet ID tags and microchips to help reunite lost pets with their loved ones.
Need help or want to help?
Our goal is to get the items most needed to those who need them the most. We typically host free pet supply and ID events on the 4th Saturday of each month in the Seattle area, please check our Facebook events for the most up to date offers. We also distribute supplies to our partners across the state with the help of volunteers and allies on a regular basis. If you are a rescue or shelter, please email yolanda@pawsitivealliance.org about receiving pet food and supplies.
You can improve the life a cat and dog in our state by providing pet supplies and volunteering! We are most commonly low on kibble (dry food) and canned food for cats, kittens, dogs, and puppies, litter, and potty pads. We accept new and gently used (must be clean and functional) such as food, treats, leashes, collars, harnesses, clothes, toys, beds - anything that will help keep a pet safe and happy!

Our Pet Retention Program focus:
To help lost pets get returned to their homes as quickly as possible, we provide free pet ID tags at events we host in communities throughout Washington. Why? One of the most common reasons pets end up in a shelter in Washington state is they become separated from their caretakers and are brought into an adoption agency by good Samaritans or animal control. When an animal doesn't have an ID tag or microchip, they are labeled as "stray," and soon put up for adoption or transferred to another agency.
Through our free pet ID efforts, we are working to get at the root cause of shelter overpopulation, so animal shelters can handle fewer lost pets and focus their resources on animals without a loving family, and pets can be returned quickly and safely to their family.
Additionally, it is estimated that up to 10% of the homeless population has pets; the city of Seattle/King County, Washington, is ranked third in a list of major cities in the US with the largest number of people experiencing homelessness. We honor that income should not be a barrier to keeping a pet. These are beloved pets whose caretakers want the best for them.
In 2019, we began delivering much needed pet supplies to our partners and directly to people experiencing housing or financial instability, and these efforts have grown each year, thanks to community support.
