St. Patricks Day Adoption Event
Adoption Event A Success!
The luck of the Irish was with the 44 dogs and 17 cats adopted at the St. Pooches Day and St. Catricks Day adoption event on March 16th, 2008! The gals at Riverdog, especially Katerina, worked very hard this weekend to help our adoptable dogs and cats. I am grateful to Riverdog for allowing us to take over both of their buildings yesterday. Their love of animals and genuine desire to help them shines through.
Once again, the turnout from the public did not disappoint us. Every time we have an adoption event, and I see the line of people waiting to get in, I am touched. You are proving time and time again, that if we plan it, you will come. We could not continue to help so many dogs and cats without your support.
A huge thank you to all of our committed volunteers who either helped at the event or beforehand with the marketing: Kim H., Jim, Kim C., Lori, Michael, Diane and Bonnie, Emil and Roberta, Beth, Tom and Emily. And thank you Margaret for the fleece bandannas.
I want to thank the shelters and rescues for their hard work and especially their professionalism and friendliness when dealing with the public. Thank you for helping us reach out to these good homes who want to adopt! Many great families added a rescue dog or cat to their homes yesterday, and many more were introduced to the great dogs and cats in rescue, and the dedicated staff and volunteers working on their behalf.
Together we made a difference in the lives of 61 dogs and cats yesterday.
