MEOW in Mukilteo

43 Families Met Their Match at Meow in Mukilteo!

Our second annual cat adoption event was a huge success! At the end of the day, 43 cats and kittens were adopted by excited families.

Pip, an orange calico, started life under a trailer in Snohomish. Purrfect Pals rescued him, got him the veterinary care he needed, and brought him to the MEOW in Mukilteo adoption event. The happy family in the second photo chose Pip as their first feline family member!

The first photo is of a couple who recently lost their cat to cancer. They were looking to find a friend for their other cat. They wanted a long haired little Tortie named Connie to come home with them....and she did!

The first cat adopted from KCACC was a real survivor. Here is Necker’s story according to Rebecca from KCACC: Necker had been at our shelter for about one month. When he arrived, he was fractious, thin, and could not be handled. Luckily we discovered a flea collar deeply imbedded into his neck. Once the collar was removed, he was a changed man! No longer in pain and finally able to eat, his true personality began to shine through! He was affectionate, confident, loving, and grateful. He didn't demand much more than some daily love and to sit in your lap or on your shoulders. As his wounds began to heal and he had reached a healthy weight, it was time to find him a forever home. Although everyone here is going to miss him, we are all pleased that home was found on Sunday. Another happy ending after a rough beginning!

We are grateful to Teresa Carlo and the staff at the Mukilteo YMCA for being such gracious hosts and letting us take over two rooms at their facility. The event would not have been possible without their generosity.

It inspires me to see seven shelters and rescues working together, side by side, on behalf of homeless cats and kittens. We acted as one team, with one goal, to help match as many cats and kittens with families as possible. I believe if we continue to work together, we will see the day when every cat has a home.

Most of all, we appreciate the many wonderful families who made their way to the Mukilteo YMCA to welcome a new feline friend into their homes and their hearts. Thank you for joining us on a beautiful summer Sunday and for choosing adoption.
